Paul Delahunt-Rimmer was born in 1955. He was educated at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester where he was awarded a Cathedral chorister’s scholarship. He went on to read Physics at The City University London and latterly gained an MBA with the Open University Business School. He was commissioned into the Royal Air Force as a pilot in 1978. He served on 10 Sqn, 32 Sqn and The Queen’s Flight. As an aircraft commander on the VC10 he flew the Royal Family and government ministers worldwide. He also served in the Persian Gulf War. Retiring as a senior officer in 1994 he became an airline pilot and management consultant specialising in aviation and eco-tourism. He married Henrietta, also a retired Royal Air Force officer, in 1997. They lived in the Cotswolds in the UK, moving to Amorgos, Greece in 1999 and then to Botswana in 2012.
